Observations 01
my frenetic foray into abstraction
Observations 01 is a collection of work and studies done between December 2018 and January 2019. The impetus behind this series is a mix of spiritual, psychological and emotional reflection.
The following 16” x 20” canvases below are composed of mix media to include; acrylic, graphite, charcoal, and collage.
Having spent the last several years in “hunter and gather mode” over my life’s interactions and experiences, I felt particularly compelled to capture the mix of emotions, beliefs and conclusions I wrestled with as I began closing significant chapters in my life while opening newer and more-inspiring ones.
The creation of this series was my own, personal, discovery of utilizing creative expression as a way to genuinely express a deeper understanding of external and internal influences/forces, appreciation for the dance of life and its rhythms and unrequited energy.
